Price Watch: what these vendors quietly changed

Researched assessment · by Daniel HaketUpdated 2026-09-02

Vendors raise prices quietly. We write it down.

Every month we archive the pricing page of every tool we cover, then compare the new capture against the last one. What follows is only the part that concerns the tools on this site, and only the changes a person confirmed by reading the raw lines of both months. Amounts on their own are not evidence: a currency selector or a failed capture can move a number without anything changing.

Caught by our own captures: 2026-07 → 2026-08

We compared 237 tools that had a capture in both months. 24 pages moved; a person read the raw lines and confirmed which were real. Below are the 4 that concern tools on this site, checked on 2026-08-22.

FEES UP

CallHippo

The plan prices held, but the two charges that sit outside them both rose: the one-time setup fee by a third, and the per-minute rate you pay past your bundle by more than half. Neither shows up in a tier comparison.

A one-time setup fee of $15 per account applies.
$0.16 per minute after 2500 minutes
A one-time setup fee of $20 per account applies.
Calling charges billed separately at $0.25/min, based on actual usage.

PRICE CUT

Weave

A cut, which is rare enough to be worth recording: the advertised starting price dropped by $50 a month. What you actually pay is still quoted per location, so treat this as the opening number rather than the bill.

Find just what you need and get the most out of Weave with simple plans and pricing, starting from $249 per month.

PLAN RESTRUCTURE

Calilio

The page was rebuilt around annual billing. The $15 headline survived, the old $4.50 line did not, and the tiers are now quoted as yearly totals — which makes the monthly comparison you did in July no longer possible on the same page.

Calilio Pricing | VoIP Plans Starting from $15 Per Month
$4.50

RATES WITHDRAWN

Vida AI

In July the page published a full rate card — per agent, per minute, per message, per token. In August all of it was gone, replaced by an invitation to design a pilot. The product did not necessarily get dearer; it got harder to price without talking to sales.

2-1K additional - $20.00/agent
51-1M additional - $0.20/minute
51-1M additional - $0.1/message
1M-100B additional - $0.00000325/token

Caught by our own captures: 2026-08 → 2026-09

We compared 330 tools that had a capture in both months. 30 pages moved; a person read the raw lines and confirmed which were real. Below is the 1 that concerns a tool on this site, checked on 2026-09-02.

LADDER REBUILT, TOP UP 32%

Salesmessage

Our 2 August capture still showed the old five-step ladder from $25 to $249 a month. By our 8 August reading the page sold two plans: Basic at $25 and Pro at $329 a month, or $277 a month billed yearly, with everything in between replaced by a credits dropdown and published add-on rates of $10 per extra seat and $5 per extra number. The September capture carries the $277 figure. Read monthly against monthly, the top of the ladder went from $249 to $329, a 32% rise.

How we track this

Once a month we capture the vendor’s own pricing page and keep the file. The next month we capture it again and compare the two. A script proposes candidates; a person reads the raw lines of both months and decides what actually happened. Currency selectors, failed captures and feature changes that move a number without moving a price are thrown out at that step.

The full registry across every tool we cover lives on AI Builder Marketplace.

Some links on this page are affiliate links: if you sign up we may earn a commission, at no cost to you, and it never changes what we write. The before and after lines are verbatim from our own captures.
