There are two meters, and the second one is easy to miss.
e-commerce and marketplace sellers who want one unified inbox across Amazon, eBay, Shopify and email — with order data and AI-assisted replies where support and revenue overlap.
you run a non-commerce SaaS or service business (general helpdesks fit better and cheaper), or your ticket volume is low enough that a shared inbox already copes.

No free plan: 'Start for free' opens a 14-day full-feature trial with no credit card. Essential $39 per agent/mo, Growth $89, Professional $119 (the plan eDesk marks Most Popular), Enterprise custom — all billed annually. Billed monthly the same plans cost $49, $115 and $149; the annual rate is the '20% off' eDesk advertises. The AI Agent is included on every plan, but its automated resolutions bill separately at $0.99 per outcome: you pay when it actually resolves a query, not per attempt. eDesk claims the agent can automate up to 65% of support across channels, so model the outcome fee against your ticket volume — at 1,000 resolved tickets a month that is $990 on top of the seats. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.
Category context: Communication & Voice. Across the 22 tools in this category that we researched with a public US-dollar price, the median entry price is about $30 a month (lowest paid plan as listed, per seat where the vendor prices per seat). eDesk’s entry price of $39 a month sits above that median. Compare pricing conditions in the Software Cost Atlas →

The per-agent price is the entry ticket, but the AI Agent charges $0.99 for every automated resolution on top. That is great when it deflects real tickets, but it is a variable line item that scales with your support volume — model it against your ticket count before assuming a flat bill. And the honest fundamental for any e-commerce helpdesk: the value is only as good as your marketplace integrations actually syncing — test Amazon/eBay/Shopify connections with your real accounts during the free trial.

E-commerce helpdesk: one unified inbox for Amazon, eBay, Shopify and email, with order data and an AI Agent that bills per resolved outcome.

Hands-on: not tested by usDocumented by the vendor: 5 features, read 2026-10-08Reported by buyers: G2, Capterra and Software Advice, Trustpilot, read August 2026; Trustpilot read 7 October 2026
Themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026; Trustpilot read 7 October 2026. We have not run eDesk ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.
Where the ratings disagree. Trustpilot has only 6 reviews for edesk.com (2.6, read 7 October 2026), two of them in the last year, so it is thin evidence; it does match the price-rise complaint that the larger review sites already carry.
eDesk's entry-level Essential plan ($39 per user/month billed annually, $49 monthly) covers a seller running a single online store or marketplace, with centralized messaging, live chat, and rule-based automation included. The concrete threshold is the store/marketplace count: Essential caps out at 1 connected channel. So anyone selling on multiple marketplaces — Amazon plus a Shopify store, say — is pushed to Growth (5 stores, $89/user/month annual) or Professional (10 stores, $119/user/month annual, plus 2 free read-only users).
What upgrading does not solve is the AI Agent cost: eDesk charges $0.99 per resolved outcome on every plan, including Enterprise. Moving up tiers adds seats and channel capacity but does not reduce or cap the per-resolution AI fee, which scales linearly with support volume regardless of subscription level. API access is also gated separately: it requires the custom-priced Enterprise plan, not just a higher per-user tier.
Our monthly capture read this vendor's pricing page in September 2026 and again in October 2026, and the amounts were the same both times, including $89, $115, $119 and $149 from the pricing above. We keep watching — the registry records what moves.

Facts about eDesk that would change a buying decision, and where we stand on each. An unanswered question does not mean the feature is missing; it means we have not confirmed it yet.

Getting first value from eDesk means connecting at least one channel through the App Store — a marketplace like Amazon or eBay, or a webstore like Shopify. Browse the channel tiles, click Install App, then complete that channel's authorization flow so its messages start flowing into the eDesk Mailbox. This requires an Admin login; team members without Admin rights have to request access before they can add anything. eDesk offers a 14-day full-feature free trial with no credit card required, so testing channel connections costs nothing upfront.

Where people get stuck is the API.
Where a vendor publishes a price, its column shows the entry price we read and when; where it does not, the column says so rather than filling in a figure from elsewhere. We do not average them into a score.
The eDesk link above is an affiliate link — we may earn a commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you — and the other column is a plain link. Neither changes what this table says.
The natural comparison is Gorgias — Gorgias is the other big e-commerce helpdesk, deepest on Shopify; eDesk leans harder into marketplaces (Amazon, eBay) and per-outcome AI pricing — pick by where your orders actually live and how you want the AI billed.
$39 per agent a month on Essential billed annually ($49 monthly), $89 on Growth ($115 monthly), $119 on Professional ($149 monthly), with Enterprise quoted. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Read on 29 September 2026.
It is per resolved outcome, not per attempt or per message: if the agent answers a 'where is my order' query end to end, that is $0.99. The AI Agent itself is included on every plan. The honest way to budget it is against your own deflection rate — eDesk claims up to 65% automation, and at a thousand resolved tickets a month the fee alone is $990.
It is enough to see the shared inbox and the channel integrations, which is the core of the product. The trial opens the most comprehensive plan with all add-ons and runs in Safe Mode: messages are neither stored nor sent until you switch Safe Mode off. What it will not tell you is the thing that decides the bill: how many of your tickets the AI Agent can close on its own. Run a paid month against real volume before committing to a year.
According to eDesk's help centre (read 7 October 2026), Report extracts are on Professional and Enterprise only. These are CSV reports on tickets, agents, chats, SLA breaches, AI automations and more, and the download link lasts 30 days. The CSV download from a Mailbox search needs Enterprise and stops at 1,000 rows. The admin user can also use 'Download Tickets', which emails a password-protected zip with the tickets in JSON; without filters it takes the first 500 tickets. The article does not say separately which plan that option needs. API access is Enterprise-only.
Yes. Connecting Shopify brings messages, orders and order details into eDesk, both in the ticket and on the Orders screen, and an Admin login is needed to connect it (help article 'Shopify', read 7 October 2026). The pricing page caps connected stores and marketplaces at 1 on Essential, 5 on Growth and 10 on Professional, so Shopify plus Amazon already needs Growth. Tickets can be assigned to a named agent, by hand or with Message rules.
Partly. eDesk's role-permissions article (read 7 October 2026) gives the standard Agent role four Insights pages: Mailbox Overview, Currently Assigned Tickets, Tickets Handled and Chats Handled. The Agents pages show the numbers for every agent on the team, and nothing in the articles limits them to the agent's own figures. Ticket, response-time, CSAT and report pages are for Admin and Team Leader, and custom roles can be set per permission. Read-only users get no Insights at all.
