CalilioCalilio Review (2026)$12 a Seat, Calls Meter Apart

Communication & VoiceResearched assessment · by Daniel HaketUpdated 2026-09-07

The subscription is the platform, not the talking: numbers, minutes and SMS meter separately from a credit balance, so an active calling team's real bill sits meaningfully above the per-seat sticker — model a month of your actual call volume before comparing vendors. It's a young player in a crowded VoIP field; the price is keen, so test call quality on your real routes in the trial.

Best for: startups and small teams that want a modern, affordable cloud phone system with international numbers and clean dashboards.

Pricing (2026)

✓ Pricing re-verified 17 Aug 2026

Standard $15 per user/mo, or $12 billed annually ($144 a year); Premium $35 per user/mo, or $28 annually ($336 a year); Enterprise custom. Annual billing saves 20%. Each plan includes a stated value of free calls and SMS/MMS to US and Canada numbers — $6.75 on Standard and $33.74 on Premium — and beyond that calls and SMS draw from a credit balance, with numbers billed separately.

Standard suits solopreneurs and small businesses; Premium is aimed at growing businesses, franchises and call centres. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

What the price did

We capture Calilio’s own pricing page every month and keep the figures, so this is our record of the page — not a forecast, and not someone else’s summary.

Calilio restructured its pricing page between our two monthly captures. In July 2026 the page was titled 'VoIP Plans Starting from $15 Per Month' and quoted per-minute rates ($0.0029 per minute) alongside a $4.50 line. By the August 2026 capture it had become 'Business Telephony at $15 Per Month Only'. The per-minute rates were gone, and the plans were presented as $15/$12 and $35/$28 with included call value instead. The $15 entry point survived both; how the rest is expressed did not.

What buyers report about Calilio

Recurring themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026. We have not run Calilio ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • Call quality and support are the two things reviewers name, and a local number is included with the subscription.
  • Simple enough that a one-person business can run it without help.
What they complain about
  • No video calling — the most frequent complaint at 9 G2 mentions, and a dealbreaker if you wanted one tool for everything.
  • The $12 per user headline is not the bill: calls and SMS meter by destination and segment, and extra numbers cost more. Reviewers report landing at $20-$30 per user in practice.
  • Integrations are limited and several are still marked coming soon. Number porting is slow or problematic (5 mentions).
  • A January 2026 Trustpilot reviewer described a take-the-money, request-documents, reject-documents loop that left the product unusable. Verify your own onboarding completes before you rely on it.

When the paid plan is worth it

Standard is the entry dialer; Premium is where the call-handling machinery sits. Calilio's own plan-restriction guide places Phone Trees (IVR), Call Transfer, Live Call Monitoring, Call Whispering, Power Dialer, Business Hours, Teams, Caller ID, AI-Powered Call Summary and Call Sentiment Analysis behind Premium. The seat cap makes the crossover arithmetic simple: Standard stops at 10 users, so growing past that cap forces the move from $12 to $28 per user per month on annual billing, or $15 to $35 monthly.

Bundled usage scales with it, from 200 outgoing and 100 incoming minutes on Standard to 1,000 and 500 on Premium, and from 100 outbound and 100 inbound SMS to 500 of each. Below ten seats the seat cap itself forces nothing; the move is a feature and bundle decision. What upgrading does not fix: the same guide names the integration rows "Salesforce (Coming Soon)", "Zoho (Coming Soon)", "HubSpot (Coming Soon)" and "Slack (Coming Soon)" while ticking them for Premium.

Calling and messaging still meter against a prepaid wallet, and additional numbers are charged at $2 per number/month.

We watched this price move

Our monthly capture read this pricing page in July 2026 and again in August 2026. The page was rebuilt around annual billing. The $15 headline survived, the old $4.50 line did not, and the tiers are now quoted as yearly totals — which makes the monthly comparison you did in July no longer possible on the same page.

How to actually use Calilio

Calilio is paid from the first step. Manual signup collects name, email, password and phone number, and Calilio may then send an OTP code to the email for verification; a Google or Apple sign-in skips those fields. The next screens ask for plan choice, plan duration (Monthly or Annual) and billing details before a Pay Now button. Payment confirmation ends in a "Congratulations!" message and a "Go to your Dashboard" link; no trial step appears in that flow.

One local US or Canada number is free for each user after sign-up; further numbers are bought under Settings > My Numbers > Purchase Number. For an additional number the help centre states that numbers become available once the sales team has verified payment and, if necessary, documentation; "Verification documents vary from country to country". A USA toll-free number needs no verification, though sending SMS from it requires A2P 10DLC registration.

Budget for the wallet too, since calling, messaging and other usage-based features draw down prepaid balance; auto-recharge adds a Recharge Amount whenever the balance hits a Trigger Amount you set.

Distilled from Vendor documentation, all read first-hand on 2026-07-31: the signup fields, the OTP caveat, the plan and duration choice, the "Pay Now" button and the closing "Congratulations!" / "Go to your Dashboard" from https://support.calilio.com/en/articles/9188154-how-to-sign-up-and-create-a-new-account-on-calilio ; the included first local number, the $2 per additional number per month rate and the purchase path Settings > My Numbers > Purchase Number from https://www.calilio.com/virtual-phone-number/local-phone-numbers ; "Numbers will be available once the sales team has verified your payment and documentation (if necessary). The catch
Same honest math as most budget VoIP: the plan buys the platform, the meter buys the conversations — per-minute and per-SMS charges land on top of every seat, so the comparison that matters is call-rate-per-country at your volume.
Best for
sales and support teams that need virtual numbers across many countries with a shared dashboard, dialer and CRM hooks at a budget seat price

The natural comparison is KrispCall or CloudTalk — close low-cost VoIP rivals — compare the metered call rates on the countries you actually call, not the seat price.

Frequently asked questions

What does Calilio cost?

$15 per user a month for Standard, or $12 billed annually ($144 a year); $35 for Premium, or $28 annually ($336). Annual saves 20%. Read on 17 August 2026.

What is included before the credit balance starts?

Each plan carries a stated value of free calls and SMS/MMS to US and Canada numbers — $6.75 a month on Standard and $33.74 on Premium. After that, calls and messages draw from a credit balance you top up, and phone numbers are billed separately from the seat. That is the part that makes the effective bill higher than the plan price.

Has the pricing changed recently?

The way it is presented has. Our July 2026 capture of the page quoted per-minute rates from $0.0029 a minute; by August those were gone and the same plans were described in terms of included call value instead. The $15 entry price was the same in both. If you are comparing against a quote from earlier in the summer, the structure moved even where the headline did not.

What should I weigh before buying Communication & Voice software?

Generally yes, since this category is built for it, but the details that bite are timezone handling, how per-seat cost scales as the team spreads, and whether numbers, routing or coverage exist in the countries your people actually sit in. Availability varies far more by country than the marketing pages suggest, so check your specific regions before committing.
