Best for: small stores with repetitive product, shipping and returns questions who want a cheap multilingual FAQ widget and can test the answer quality on their own policy pages for free first.

Pricing (2026)

✓ Pricing re-verified 28 Sep 2026

Four tiers, priced by AI replies per month, and the cheapest ladder in this category. Free: 50 AI replies a month, replies in one language you select, answers drawn from your FAQs, policy pages and product data, translated storefront widget, product finder and usage tracking. Starter $4.99 a month: 500 replies, automatic shopper-language detection across up to three languages, translated replies, product recommendations and best sellers.

Growth $9.99 a month: 1,500 replies and all supported languages. Pro $19.99 a month: 5,000 replies. All charges are billed in USD and recur every 30 days, and no paid tier shows a free trial — the free plan is the trial. What the listing never says is what happens when you run out: there is no overage rate anywhere on the page, so whether reply 501 costs money or simply does not happen is not published. 'Any language' is also not on offer; customer-facing replies and widget labels cover English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese — seven.

Developer Ecommerce Storez, 1255 23rd St NW, Washington DC; the app launched 8 May 2026 and has exactly one App Store review. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

What the price did

We capture AskNest’s own pricing page every month and keep the figures, so this is our record of the page — not a forecast, and not someone else’s summary.

No movement since launch in the readings we have: 19 August, 19 September and 28 September 2026 all show Free (50 replies), Starter $4.99 (500), Growth $9.99 (1,500) and Pro $19.99 (5,000) a month on the Shopify App Store listing.

The catch

One review. That is five stars, 16 July 2026, from an Austrian store, and it is about support responsiveness: they wanted the widget's language changed and someone called Tracy did it within minutes. That is a pleasant data point about the vendor and no data point at all about whether the bot answers correctly under load. The developer is a Shopify agency, not a support-software company. Ecommerce Storez sells Shopify themes, store builds and SEO audits from ecommercestorez.us, and AskNest is one of two apps it has shipped in 2026 — the other, AgentNest, has no reviews.

AskNest has no product site of its own; the App Store listing is the entire published record, which is why the link we point at is the developer's agency site. And be clear about what this is not. There is no live human takeover on any tier, no ticketing, no inbox. It reads your FAQs, your policy pages and your catalogue and answers from them in seven languages. When a shopper asks something your policy pages do not cover, nothing on the listing describes what happens next — no handover to email, no escalation.

For a first line of defence on repetitive questions that is fine and five dollars is a fair price for it. As your only support channel it is not enough.

What AskNest does

Multilingual FAQ bot for the Shopify storefront that answers from your own FAQs, policy pages and product catalogue in seven languages, with product recommendations and best sellers. Launched May 2026 with a single App Store review.

What buyers report about AskNest

Recurring themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026. We have not run AskNest ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • • The only published review (Austria, July 2026, 28 days in) is about the vendor rather than the bot: the merchant asked for the widget's reply language to be changed and someone on the team did it within minutes, and they rate the install as painless.
What they complain about
  • • Nobody has published a complaint. At one review that says nothing about the app — it means no merchant has yet written about answer quality, wrong answers, or what happens when the bot meets a question your policy pages do not cover.

Where the ratings disagree. One review since the app launched on 8 May 2026, and the same developer's other 2026 app, AgentNest, still has none. The single review tells you support responds quickly; it cannot tell you whether the bot answers correctly on a live storefront. Test it on your own policy pages using the free tier before you commit, because the public record cannot do that job for you.

When the paid plan is worth it

At these prices the tier question is almost trivial and the interesting line is elsewhere. Fifty free replies is roughly two a day, which is a test rather than a service; $4.99 for 500 is the first plan that can actually sit on a live storefront. From there the ladder is close to linear — 500, 1,500, 5,000 replies for $4.99, $9.99, $19.99. Climbing it costs about a cent a reply at the bottom and under half a cent at the top, and picking wrong costs you five or ten dollars, not five hundred.

The one gate that is not about volume sits between Free and Starter: automatic shopper-language detection. On Free you choose a single reply language and every shopper gets it. Starter detects the shopper's language across three; Growth opens all seven. If your traffic is one country, that gate is worth nothing to you and the free tier may genuinely be enough. If you sell into Germany, France and the Netherlands from one storefront, it is the entire reason to pay, and it arrives for five dollars.

What you cannot price is the overage. No tier states what happens after the last reply — whether the widget goes quiet, queues, or bills. On a support tool that failure mode matters more than the tier, because the month you exceed your allowance is by definition the month shoppers were asking the most.

How to actually use AskNest

Write the FAQs before you install anything. This bot answers from your saved FAQs, your Shopify policy pages and your catalogue, so the quality of its answers is a direct function of how precise those three sources are. Install it against vague policy pages and you get vague answers with a confident tone. Then spend the 50 free replies deliberately. Ask it your ten most common questions in each language you sell in, and check that product names, prices and links come back intact — preserving those is a feature the vendor names explicitly, and therefore one worth verifying.

Before you pay, ask support in writing what happens when the monthly reply cap is reached, because the listing does not say. And decide up front where a shopper goes when the bot cannot help — there is no human takeover in this app, so that route has to be your own contact page, visible in the widget.

Frequently asked questions

What does AskNest cost?

Four tiers metered on AI replies a month, re-read on apps.shopify.com/asknest-ai-faq-product-bot on 19 September and 28 September 2026 and unchanged since 19 August. Free gives 50 replies a month. Starter is $4.99 for 500, Growth $9.99 for 1,500, Pro $19.99 for 5,000. Charges are billed in USD every 30 days. No paid tier advertises a trial, which makes sense here: the free plan is the trial, and at these amounts picking the wrong rung costs five or ten dollars rather than five hundred.

What happens when I use up my monthly replies?

The listing does not say, on any tier. There is no overage rate published anywhere on the page, so whether reply 501 costs money or simply does not arrive is unknown until it happens -- and on a storefront widget, "does not arrive" means a shopper gets silence. Ask support in writing before you rely on it. It matters most at the free end: 50 replies a month is roughly two a day, so a single busy afternoon can exhaust a month.

Which languages does it really support?

Seven, and "any language" is not on offer: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese for customer-facing replies and widget labels. How you get at them differs by tier. On Free you pick one reply language and every shopper gets that one. Starter detects the shopper’s own language across up to three, and Growth and Pro open all supported ones. So the step from free to $4.99 is not about volume at all -- it is automatic language detection, which is worth nothing if your traffic is one country and is the whole reason to pay if you sell into several.

Can a human take over when the bot gets stuck?

No -- not on any tier. There is no live handover, no ticketing and no shared inbox in this app. It reads your saved FAQs, your Shopify policy pages and your catalogue and answers from those, so when a shopper asks something outside them, the conversation ends where the widget ends. Decide up front where that shopper goes next and make the route visible in the widget itself; your own contact page has to carry what the app will not.

What should I weigh before buying Customer Support software?

Judge it on evidence rather than adjectives. Look for a published security page, single sign-on and role controls on the plan you would actually buy (they are often gated to higher tiers), a status page with real incident history, and a clear answer on where your data is stored. If the tool will hold anything sensitive, those four answers matter more than any feature comparison.
